Queen crab legs thawing.

Queen Crab Legs

There’s a good reason why I’m referring to a snow crab as a queen…it’s worth the royalty.  These crab legs have such wonderful flavors and a moist texture your mouth will be in heaven.

I’ve come up with the ultimate crab leg infusion system: A meat injector (designed for a roast beef or turkey) filled with delicate flavors, carefully selected to enhance the crab meat in the legs.

This might sound like a commercial, but it’s not. I’m sure you could get the exact same results by using an eye dropper or medicine syringe. I just happen to have given Davis ( the crab-tasting-fairy) one of these bad boys for Christmas and tried it out on crab.

This is new so I haven’t had much experimenting with different cooking methods. But I’m sure it would be a great success cooking your crab legs however your liking. For this recipe I baked the legs.

Ingredients:

  • 8 Snow crab legs (fully thawed)
  • 2 Tablespoons of coconut cream
  • 1 Tablespoon of unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 Tablespoon of coconut milk
  • Cayenne pepper powder to taste

Method to the Rad-ness:

Pre-heat the oven to 350* C. Arrange all the crab legs on a baking sheet.

In a measuring cup add the coconut cream, melted butter and coconut milk. Mix well. Add the cayenne powder to taste.

Insert your meat injector into the liquid and fill the syringe. (If you find the coconut cream too thick you can add another tablespoon of coconut milk to thin the mixture.)

Squirt the creamy mixture into each compartment of each leg to be sure all parts have been flavored.

Bake in the middle rack for 15 minutes.

What to do with your left-over coconut cream and milk?

A great accompaniment to these queen crab legs is a spicy-mango -coconut -egg noodle -pasta that can easily be whipped up in the time it takes to bake your crab legs.

Spicy Mango Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of broad egg noodles
  • The remaining can of coconut cream
  • The remaining can of coconut milk
  • 2 mangos chopped
  • 1-2 hot red peppers chopped (to taste)

Method to the Rad-ness:

In a medium sized pot boil water and cook the egg noodle according to the instructions on the label.

In a smaller pot over medium-low heat, add the coconut cream and coconut milk. Bring to a simmer and add the mangos and red peppers.

Once the egg noodles are cooked pour the coconut sauce over the noodles and serve.
