It's a crab cake yet it looks like a burger.

Unlike the popular fast food burgers that tend to be flung about like flying saucers and tossed out to space. These crab cake burgers can’t be confused with a flying saucer. Mainly because of the lack of flight on lift off but also because it looks nothing like a spaceship.

Spaceships tend to be a bit crunchy and industrial tasting. Not many people like to eat them.

You won’t be able to resist this crab burger though. It’s a healthy burger that will leave you feeling good about yourself.

Also, there’s no chance you will break a tooth taking a bite.

For these burgers I used my best Old Bay crab cake recipe but you could use any crab cake recipe that you could grill.

Serving: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 dungeness crab cracked and shelled orJumbo lumb blue crab meat
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/8 cup of milk
  • 1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp parsley chopped
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/2 Tbsp Mayonnaise

Method to the Rad-ness:

In a medium mixing bowl whisk the egg, milk, Old Bay seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and baking powder together until thoroughly blended. Stir in the mayonnaise and bread crumbs. Gently add the dungeness crab meat being careful not to break it apart.

Form into six equal patties and place them on a plate. Refridgerate for about an hour.

Once the crab patties are cold prepare the BBQ.

Spray the grills of the BBQ with Pam or any other non-stick spray of your preference. Fire-up the BBQ and pre-heat to medium heat.

Put the patties on the grill and cook for 4 minutes each side with the lid closed.
